In Sao Tome and Principe the necessary conditions to perform cardiac surgery are not put in place, not even with the medical missions. Thanks to the the Medigraf telemedicine platform allowing the consultations and complementary exams to be carried-out long-distance, there’s been a reduction of the missions.

It is noteworthy the  partnership between IMVF and the Portuguese NGO Cadeia da Esperança, whose medical staff performs the cardiology missions and is given access to the telemedicine platform.
