Two Sao Tomean young doctors have received the appropriate training to be able to perform mammograms in the country. They are also responsible for the transmission of these exams to Portugal through the Medigraf telemedicine platform.

The first mammography unit in Sao Tome and Principe was inaugurated in June 2013, alongside the launch of the new telemedicine platform Medigraf. The first screening was free.

The Sao Tomean doctor Hélder Costa received training in Portugal to use the ecography device.
