A major breakthrough was the integration of several ophthalmology equipments that allow a thorough observation at the distance of thousands of miles under the supervision of an ophthalmologist and with the possibility of saving files of all images and examinations. This advance allows access to early diagnosis to people excluded due to lack of specialists, distance and simply poverty.
Thus Teleye® was born, the result of a team effort between IMVF and PT Innovation.
This equipment includes:
- a slit lamp;
- one refractometer;
- a retinographer;
- a tonometer; and
- a high-definition camera.
The integration of this equipment within Medigraf® allows an observation of equal quality as the in-person observation, supervised by an ophthalmologist in Portugal.
This tool revolutionizes the way of looking at health cooperation in the field of Ophthalmology, since it enhances the potential access of vulnerable and excluded people to such healthcare.
